I was born in Washington D.C., and we lived in nearby Virginia.
I started drawing seriously when I was around six years old,
and began art and riding lessons at seven. Horses were my
first passion; I wanted to ride them and draw them, and this
intense interest motivated me to practice my drawing with
dedication and discipline.
We moved to California, and I took art classes at Lowell High
School in San Francisco, and later at the San Francisco
Academy of Art, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco
State University, and Fort Mason.
Now our 17-year-old son is a very ambitious rider, and horses
have, once again, become a significant part of my life.
Therefore, I've happily come full circle, and I'm back to
drawing and painting them in order to express my admiration
of their beauty, athletic prowess, and their general
contribution to the welfare of human beings.
